Open Access Program
The Open Access Program reflects the Virgil Abloh Foundation’s commitment to expanding access, equity, and opportunity across all VAF programming for a broader audience. From ABLOH AIR to future creative initiatives, the program invites broader participation in cultural and educational experiences that support emerging creative talent.Key Features:01. Expands participation in VAF programs through nominations from community partners and organizations02. Engages local students in creative opportunities including site visits, workshops, and lectures03. Prioritizes underrepresented young creatives, particularly BIPOC youth and those without prior industry access04. Participation is free of charge, with travel support available when needed
Open Access Pilot
ABLOH AIR (2024-2025)
The Open Access pilot launched alongside ABLOH AIR Flight 000, expanding participation during the program’s international experience in London and Paris.Local students, nominated by community organizations and institutional partners, were invited to join select program moments alongside the core cohort.Rather than operating as a separate track, Open Access was integrated into live cultural programming, enabling students to engage in real-time creative exchange within leading institutions.Experiences included:01. Museum and institutional site visits02. Artist-led talks, panels, and workshops03. Portfolio and creative exposure opportunities04. Cultural exchanges within ABLOH AIR programming
